Academus

Part of Gaspard · 2010 to 2013

Creating and launching Academus for the U.S. graduation market.

At Gaspard, I created Academus as a premium disposable graduation regalia brand for the U.S. market: the name was mine, and I developed the brand from there and registered the trademark. I launched Academus.com as a catalogue website supporting sales and managed the launch campaign through trade shows, graduation coordinators, and campus bookstores.

Brand & Website

A distinct brand and catalogue for U.S. buyers.

I came up with the Academus name, developed the brand identity around it, and we registered the trademark to build Academus out as a premium offering in disposable graduation regalia for the U.S. market. I then launched Academus.com, built with agency Marketing Media under my direction, as a catalogue website to support sales; orders ran through the sales team and reps rather than online checkout.

The site gave U.S. buyers a dedicated presentation of the brand and the product range, from high school and faculty gowns to accessories, separate from the Canadian Gaspard identity.

Campaign Management

Reaching the people who organize graduation.

I managed the Academus launch and its campaigns, with activity spanning trade shows, direct engagement with graduation coordinators, and coordination with campus bookstores: the institutional buyers and organizers responsible for getting gowns into graduates' hands. The brand went to market with a full gown range, from high school and faculty to kindergarten packages, plus accessories.
